Since 1957, BUWOG has been shaping the residential market throughout Austria, designing, developing and managing places to live that are orientated towards the future and refurbishing historic architectural gems to create HOMES for generations. In 2012, BUWOG also began its development activities in Germany, where space is likewise provided for artistic endeavour.

As an integrative element, art in all its facets generates added value that creates a distinctive identity, connects people, lends residential projects their individual character and makes our corporate philosophy visible. We promote established and up-and-coming works from a variety of genres and create spaces that encourage people to experience, reflect on and engage in dialogue about art. Because we are certain that art not only makes our projects more beautiful, it also makes them more liveable.

With outstanding architects, art in architecture projects and artistic interventions (or installations), we actively design public space, lend character to cityscapes and define our understanding of residential living. We revitalise historic buildings in the spirit of monument preservation so that they once again function as inspired residential spaces. Our Customer and Administrative Centre at Rathausstrasse 1 showcases contemporary works of object and visual art and regularly hosts exhibitions to bring art to life for our employees, customers and cooperation partners. By providing our expertise, space or sponsorship, we are delighted to support selected cultural projects whose realisation we consider relevant to the discourse on art.

We also have numerous ideas about art in mind for the future, without knowing what shape they will eventually take. We always remain open to innovative ideas and unconventional approaches that enrich the residents of our buildings and us as a company.
