Martin Kaar: About 60 Cubes
Martin Kaar's work About 60 Cubes celebrates BUWOG’s 60th anniversary and can be read as a continuation of his Blue Box façade design from 2007. The concept artist installed an identically sized mesh banner (185 m2 vertical format) in exactly the same place on the façade of the former BUWOG Customer and Administrative Centre. He broke the cube contours of Blue Box into 60 three-dimensional individual cubes, reminiscent of building blocks or bricks – the construction company’s central material or, figuratively speaking, core competence. The number 60, on the other hand, is communicated very subtly by the orange tint in the optically nested arrangement.
