Martin Kaar: Passer
Martin Kaar's light objects play with our perception, deceive the eye and generally leave us in the dark. The light object Passer – created as an art-in-architecture commission by BUWOG for the residential complex in Seileräckergasse (architecture: Gert M. Mayr-Keber) – is no exception. Are we to interpret the four blue glowing angles as the corner points of a surface, is the thing floating in space, or is it mounted on the wall? The medium of light easily blurs the unambiguous boundaries between illusion and reality – a quality that Martin Kaar knows how to make skilful use of. He himself views his works as landscapes we wander through in order to discover new facets and potential interpretations each time we move through the space.
