One recalls Alexander Calder’s famous mobiles dancing in the breeze and is misled, because YoYo doesn’t move an inch; the coloured glass discs with integrated LED lenses are suspended with precision from the ceiling on fine steel cables at varying heights. They nevertheless feature a playful element, perhaps due to the association with colourful watercolour jars or disc-shaped chocolates, both references to childhood. As mirrors in which you can barely see yourself, they reflect the distinct structures of the architecture (Atelier Heiss Architekten) and measure the immense height of the foyer at certain points. Iris and Michael Podgorschek, founders of podpod design Vienna, are known for spectacular light installations in public spaces, in historical and modern buildings as well as for award-winning product designs.
