Nofrontiere's art installation in the BUWOG Customer and Administrative Centre takes us on a journey into uncertainty: does the Fliegende Wohnzimmer somehow tie in with Erich Kästner’s “Fliegendes Klassenzimmer”? Is it about a change of perspective, and why is the furniture used in the life-size high relief so “vintage”? The Vienna-based designers have clearly succeeded in capturing our attention. But there is more to the assemblage, which appears to defy gravity in a bemusingly casual way. The fifties look is reminiscent of the beginnings of BUWOG, which was founded in 1951 and has significantly shaped our view of housing in its more than 70-year history.
