Info/Scope: Group exhibition with 23 national and international works on the theme of light, some of which were created especially for the location, shown at three locations in Vienna.
GegenLicht / BackLight
In 2003, Grita Insam once again curated a large group exhibition centred on the theme of light (after KunstLicht, 2001). GegenLicht traced light, shadow, transparency and opacity in material, thematic and conceptual terms and showed how multifaceted the dialogue between artists of varying generations and cultures is. In addition to individual works, “installations in situ” conceived specifically for the spatial situation were developed to build on the concept. GegenLicht was a cooperative project between BUWOG, ÖBV and the Vienna underground lines presented “in three perspectives” at the relevant company locations in order to reach employees, customers and a public interested in art.
