Seestadt Aspern - Skyline on the evening of the Seeparkquartier

The third season of the GLÜCKLICH WOHNEN podcast begins on 12 January 2023 with new interviews about neighbourhood and urban development. The theme of the first episode is Seestadt Aspern, Europe’s largest urban development project.

On around 250 hectares, Seestadt Aspern is a new city within a city being built in Vienna for approximately 20,000 residents and a further 20,000 jobs. It is named after the 54,000-square-metre lake that has been specially created. This mega project – currently Europe's largest construction site – is the topic of the first episode of the new season of “Glücklich wohnen”, BUWOG’s podcast. The guest is Dr. Gerhard Schuster, who is overseeing the development of Seestadt in his role as CEO of Wien 3420 aspern Development AG.

The podcast focuses on interviews concerning neighbourhood and urban development, sustainable building and architecture. Guests in the third season include open space expert and urban planner Prof. Dr. Antje Backhaus, Anne Niediek and Axel Schmidt of Arnold und Gladisch Architekten and entrepreneur Markus Fuhrmann, CEO of the proptech GROPYUS, which is advancing platform-based housing construction and rethinking housing as a service-driven product (“Living as a Service”) with fully digitalised timber-hybrid buildings. Another guest in the interview is Stephan Ferenczy of BEHF Architects. The renowned firm designed the prominent HELIO TOWER in Vienna, among other buildings.

The individual podcast episodes last 30 to 50 minutes and can be found on all popular platforms such as Spotify, Deezer and Apple Podcasts as well as at https://buwog.podigee.io/ (only in German)
