The development of the Bayerischer Bahnhof Leipzig urban space has been in full swing since 2019. This urban space stretches from Portikus in the north to Richard-Lehmann-Straße in the south over a length of almost 1.7 km and covers around 36 hectares. 5 citizens' forums and a comprehensive participation page accompanied the accompanying information process and the participation of Leipzig's citizens. BUWOG began the first building construction work on Dösner Weg in May 2023. In the second, larger sub-area (numbers 5 and 6 on the map), the STADTQUARTIER LÖSSNIGER STRASSE with around 1,200 rental apartments is expected to be built from 2025. This results in around 130,000 m² of gross floor area (total) including around 7,500 m² of district-oriented commercial space, for example with stores for daily needs such as bakeries, cafés etc., which offer functional benefits and can also be used for meetings and exchanges. In this way, the new Lößniger Strasse urban quarter will complement the residential offerings for all generations with commercial space and daycare facilities integrated into the quarter. All new apartments in the Lößniger Strasse Leipzig quarter are barrier-free or low-barrier and equipped with elevators.
Note for prospective tenants: There are currently no lettings. We will inform you on this page as soon as letting starts (expected in 2027).
