The Take 5 project emerged from an expert competition organized by BIEN-RIES GmbH together with the Frankfurt City Planning Office. Atelier 5 from Bern in Switzerland was able to win the competition for this quarter and two other quarters.
The convincing concept of raising the quarter on a bastion and thus ensuring a greater distance from the street "Zur Kalbacher Höhe" was possible because the terrain falls by around 3 meters from north to south. The four buildings were grouped around a central courtyard under which the underground car park was located. Private gardens are arranged towards the inner courtyard.
The project was nominated by the Hesse Chamber of Architects for participation in the 2009 Day of Architecture.
