On the site of a former gas station in Frankfurt - Sachsenhausen, an apartment building with 35 residential units and an underground garage was built in 2014. In terms of urban planning, the new building responds to the existing structure in the form of the 'continued' green space on the underground car park, as well as with the formation of a clear structural edge in the form of an L-shaped building layout at the corner of Tiroler Straße and Stresemannallee, which at the same time formulates an inner courtyard.
The height of the underground car park below the residential levels follows the existing underground car park and is accessed via the same two-lane entrance/exit, which is routed towards the eastern boundary of the site. Due to its distance to the high-rise ensemble, the new building respects its 'free' composition, yet asserts itself as a solitary and 'equal' building block. This impression is supported by the high-quality, sustainable clinker cladding, as well as special design details, such as the 'modeled' entrance area, the highlighted roof terrace of the penthouse, and the subtly designed outdoor facilities.
History of the residential concept: This project was already completed in 2014 by the company BIEN-RIES, which today is part of BUWOG Bauträger GmbH and realizes high-quality new construction projects in Frankfurt & Rhine-Main.
