The project in Berlin-Charlottenburg is a sustainable redensification project that utilises an area that was previously sealed as a garage courtyard. The demolition of the existing garages began at the end of October 2024. BUWOG is realising a total of 27 new rental flats on the area behind the building at Hildegardstrasse 4-5 facing away from the street together with its partner GROPYUS. All flats are barrier-free and each flat has a balcony or terrace. No reservations are currently possible.
The residential building is being constructed using prefabricated system components (timber frame construction) with the predominant use of wood as a building material. The base floor and the access are being built conventionally in solid construction. A bicycle garage for the tenants, accessible at ground level, will be built in the basement. In the course of this new construction project, BUWOG will also redesign the courtyard areas and enhance them ecologically with new plantings. (MD)
