In the district of Treptow-Köpenick, in Quartier 52° Nord, stand these four innovative residential buildings designed by Kampmann, Fiedler, Fabianski Architekten, Berlin. The sustainable KOMPASSHÄUSER (KfW-40) focus on wood as a renewable raw material. The natural material is used in many ways here: the well-insulated wood-aluminum windows, the flooring of the balconies and the wooden cladding of the facades are made of European wood. The efficient facade insulation is made of environmentally friendly cellulose fibers and achieves very good insulation values with minimal temperature transfer in both directions.
