From the built environment to the future of housing: the fifth season of the BUWOG podcast “Glücklich wohnen” once again presents a range of high-profile discussants and exciting topics relating to urban development, architecture and housing construction.
To launch the podcast’s new season, Reiner Nagel, CEO of the Federal Foundation of Baukultur, is our guest. The public foundation is committed to high-quality and reflective planning and building and publishes the Baukultur Report for federal policymakers every two years. The foundation’s current position is that the future of building lies in a new culture of refurbishment and that the cycle of repeated demolition and new construction must be broken.
The BUWOG podcast focuses on interviews concerning neighbourhood and urban development, sustainable construction and architecture. Guests in the fifth season include futurologist Christiane Varga, who has placed her focus on the future of housing, and Cornelia Sorge, managing director of Saxovent Real Estate, a property company with the ambitious goal of climate-positive construction. Also interviewed are urban planner Judith Nurmann on the topic of land transition and land policy as well as Frank Brachvogel and Frank Christian Hinrichs from ODH – Open District Hub e.V., an initiative that is committed to the energy transition and the development of climate-neutral cities and regions. At the end of the season on 23 November, we will be talking to the winners of this year’s ZIA Innovation Radar from the focus area affordable housing, who will be announced at the Expo Real property trade fair in October.
