Engaged to the Quarter

As a company, we thus assume a special responsibility for the well-being of people and nature, for neighborly cooperation and good development opportunities for future generations.

Here we present a selection of various social projects that we support or have supported in Austria, Germany and beyond. Further BUWOG activities in the social sector can also be found in the BUWOG Blog.

Step by step to more living quality

Step by step to more living quality

In our new construction activities, we always keep our motto in mind: "Happy living". In line with this credo, we are building kindergartens in many neighborhoods, for example, thus creating urgently needed on-site childcare facilities for the youngest residents in our neighborhoods and the surrounding area.

In Germany, we cooperate with recognized providers and social sponsors who share our vision and, like us, are committed to the long term. Discover, for example, our current new daycare center in Berlin in the NEUMARIEN neighborhood, where children will soon be playing and learning in three languages. A new childcare facility is also being built in the 52° Nord neighborhood in southeast Berlin. The ADMIRALFALTER daycare center will start here in June 2019.

We are also committed to successful coexistence and suitable infrastructure for local people in Germany and Austria with green spaces and recreational areas, urban gardening, new play areas, and the construction of public paths or promenades.

Listening and understanding: BUWOG in dialogue

Wherever construction projects are implemented, transparent information and open dialog with residents, politicians and institutions are important. With this in mind, we implement continuous citizen participation in a large number of projects.

Whether with a public presentation of designs in the context of a transparent workshop or with a neutrally moderated citizens' dialog, with information days. Neighborhood tours for residents and neighbors or resident information events: Thanks to the continuous dialogue between the various interest groups, planners, architects and project experts of BUWOG, it is possible to optimally consider social, economic and ecological aspects. International projects

The BUWOG Group not only builds houses in Austria and Germany, but also supports various associations, initiatives and international projects.

This includes the refugee initiative Helping Hands 4 Greece. The network of volunteers provides important emergency aid and care for children and young people who, as unaccompanied minor refugees, are sometimes without shelter.

In Senegal, we support the non-profit association AMINA - Active for People in Need Austria in building a house for street children. In Saint Louis in northern Senegal, many children live on the streets, suffer from hunger and poverty and are often victims of violence and abuse. AMINA and its project partner Jardin d'Espoir ("Garden of Hope") are working together here to give about 100 street children a better life. Soon the street children will have the opportunity to come to a new day center: There they will be cared for by social workers and a nurse, receive warm meals, medical care and literacy courses.

In 2014, the project A House for Street Children was launched. With the support of BUWOG, a big step has been made. Here you can follow the progress of the project and find out about other AMINA projects at www.aktivfuermenschen.at/english/
