Apartment building on Kettenbrückengasse
The Biedermeier building with an early historic façade comprises four wings around a square courtyard featuring a fountain. Four storeys above a sandstone base, a richly structured façade, Gothic ornamentation and a clock in the central gable characterise the exterior. As the cornerstone of Kettenbrückengasse, which was only established in 1827, the exemplary Vormärz architecture (including the historic bakeries in the cellar vaults) was listed as an historical monument in 1974. The building, which has housed a pharmacy since 1869, was refurbished and revitalised by BUWOG.
