Nestled in the new urban development area “An der Schanze” in the 21st district, the BUWOG project “drygalski” is being built.

  • BUWOG project with 94 privately financed condominiums
  • Green and a marvellous place to live: low-traffic location with excellent connections and surrounded by nature
  • Scheduled completion: fall 2026

Although the new “drygalski” project will not be completed until this fall, BUWOG is already pleased to announce that all 94 privately funded condominiums have been sold. “We are delighted with this sales success, as despite the many challenges facing the property sector, we have managed to fully place yet another premium project,” Andreas Holler, managing director of BUWOG Group GmbH, explains.

“The full placement of ‘drygalski’ confirms once again that the demand for new housing in Vienna remains very high,” Peter Berchtold, director of sales at BUWOG in Austria, adds “Given the current circumstances, it is important to develop projects that meet the needs of the market, and we have succeeded in doing just that with ‘drygalski’.”

Natural residential setting in an urban space

In the midst of a natural environment, yet at the centre of urban life: on the Obere Alte Donau (Upper Old Danube), in one of Vienna’s most interesting new neighbourhoods, BUWOG is developing “drygalski”, a four-storey residential complex designed by Studio VlayStreeruwitz. The 94 condominiums provide floor area of between 45 m² and 150 m². Each unit has a private open area such as a garden, balcony, loggia or terrace. Future residents can also look forward to a communal terrace, laundry room and a wash station for bicycles and dogs. The energy supply via district heating is supplemented by a central in-house refrigeration system for the cooling supply and a rooftop photovoltaic system. “drygalski” has won the European Property 5 Star Award twice and is located directly in the “An der Schanze” neighbourhood development, where a promising, vibrant, diverse urban development will be created in the coming years. In close proximity there are public green and recreational areas, numerous shopping, service, sports and leisure facilities as well as educational facilities, such as the Donaufeld campus and a kindergarten. The city centre can be reached in just 20 minutes. Completion is scheduled for fall 2026.
