  • Scheduled completion: likely in spring 2028

BUWOG is committed to neighbourhood and urban development as an active partner to cities and local authorities. Recently, its project development activities have expanded beyond Vienna to include the surrounding areas and other provincial capitals. An exciting current example is the “Zielgerade” project in Eisenstadt. Directly next to the athletics arena and the Burgenland Provincial Police Headquarters, at Zielgerade 7 + 9, a new, identically named residential complex comprising a total of 176 privately financed apartments is being built. The official start of construction for the project took place on 15 June as part of a small ceremony marking the symbolic groundbreaking. Among those in attendance were BUWOG Managing Director Andreas Holler, Mayor Thomas Steiner, SPÖ Party Chairman and Government Coordinator Robert Hergovich, Planning Director Werner Fleischhacker, CEO of Handler Holding GmbH Markus Handler as well as Handler Holding GmbH Managing Director Barbara Freiler, architurbo Managing Director Nikolas Turbock, and Provincial Police Director Martin Huber.

“2026 is already proving to be a very successful year for BUWOG as a project developer. With the groundbreaking ceremony for ‘Zielgerade’, we are not only celebrating our second project launch in the first half of the year, but also our first project in beautiful Burgenland. Eisenstadt offers an extraordinary quality of life by combining the best of both worlds: excellent infrastructure, a rich range of cultural opportunities and plenty of nature. We are delighted to now be firmly established in the region with the ‘Zielgerade’ project and to soon be able to offer many people an attractive new home,” says Andreas Holler, managing director of BUWOG.

Nikolas Turbock, managing director of architurbo Architekturgesellschaft mbH, on the new development: “This project exemplifies our commitment to combining architectural quality, economic efficiency and sustainable development. The result is a residential space that will stand the test of time and offer a premium quality of life.”

With the “Zielgerade” project, 176 new, high-end apartments are being built in Eisenstadt.

The goal of your residential dreams – prospects for the future

On the green outskirts of Eisenstadt, the “Zielgerade” project is creating a modern residential complex comprising 176 premium apartments. Distributed across two components, each with 88 apartments, future residents can choose between renting or purchasing. Apartments ranging from two to five rooms, with living areas between 51 and 115 m², cater to a wide variety of needs. Spacious balconies, terraces or private gardens provide additional outdoor space to relax and unwind.

The diverse range of apartments is aimed at young families, couples, best agers, students and commuters and combine modern residential comfort with a high quality of life. Once completed, communal areas, a playground, bicycle storage rooms, parcel lockers and 232 underground parking spaces equipped for electric vehicles will comprise part of a thoroughly well-conceived residential concept.

The location on Obere Langäcker combines peace and quiet, natural surroundings and excellent infrastructure. With direct access to the S31 and B50 motorways, as well as several bus stops served by regional and city bus routes, the area is well connected by both car and public transport. Shops, schools and sports facilities are all within easy reach. At the same time, the Leitha Mountains, Lake Neusiedl and Eisenstadt’s cultural highlights offer a wide range of recreational activities.
