  • Donations in kind in the form of IT equipment for the Tafel Österreich team
  • Active contribution by BUWOG employees strengthens social awareness and team spirit

BUWOG has provided support to Tafel Österreich (formerly Wiener Tafel) for many years with regular donations in kind and in cash. “As the leading full-service provider on the Austrian residential property market, we have a social responsibility that, as an element of our corporate values, applies to all BUWOG employees and is also lived out in our everyday work,” says Kevin Töpfer, managing director of BUWOG Group GmbH. “In order to strengthen social awareness internally even more, we support the social commitment of our employees and actively seek ways to assume social responsibility together.”

Donation of needed IT equipment
Last week BUWOG symbolically presented Alexandra Gruber, managing director of Tafel Österreich, with laptops and accessories that will benefit the organisation’s growing team. “In order for an organisation such as Tafel Österreich to provide the help that people affected by poverty need, it must also be equipped accordingly. We are therefore very pleased that BUWOG was able to donate laptops on the initiative of our IT department,” Kevin Töpfer explains.

BUWOG management shows a hands-on frame of mind
A very special team day was on the agenda for BUWOG managers this summer: in order to promote teamwork while simultaneously dedicating the day to a worthy cause, the managers took on a variety of tasks at the TafelHaus of Tafel Österreich, such as sorting vegetables or helping to deliver food.

Special attention was paid to a project close to the hearts of the employees and volunteers of Tafel Österreich: together with the team workshop – consisting of Stefan Prilhofer and his team of professional craftspeople – the BUWOG managers built a new bicycle parking area and equipped a container tent with shelves, tables and benches that they also assembled themselves. In addition to the labour, BUWOG also provided the necessary materials. The container tent serves as a break area for the TafelHaus team, and school classes now also have the space they need to learn more about the topic of food waste during presentations.

“Charitable activities like these not only generate greater awareness, they also sensitise us to the concerns and needs of others and allow us to look beyond our own horizons. This gives you important insight into areas and life situations that may be foreign to you or which you’re only familiar with from afar. The social understanding gained from this has a positive effect both in our professional and private lives,” says an enthusiastic Kevin Töpfer.

“We are very grateful to have supporters such as BUWOG, who help us with regular donations to further expand the necessary aid deliveries to people affected by poverty throughout Austria and have also actively assisted us in creating a break area in the TafelHaus – a project close to our hearts,” says Alexandra Gruber, managing director of Tafel Österreich.
