Social sustainability
Social sustainability is a central aspect of our operations as a housing specialist. This applies to the residential environment of our customers as well as the workplaces of our employees.
In order for a company to act sustainably, an extensive understanding of the term is needed.
ESG (environment, social & governance) combines three areas: environmental and social sustainability as well as corporate management aimed at the future.
Example HELIO TOWER
HELIO TOWER in the urban development area “The Marks” in Vienna’s 3rd district comprises 401 apartments, among them 173 rentals under the Vienna Housing Initiative and 228 condominiums. The considerable share of apartments with capped rent in such an extraordinary and high-quality property underscores BUWOG’s commitment to affordable housing.
HELIO TOWER is compelling not only because of its mixed-use status, but also because it is a vertical development. In addition to communal areas inside and in front of the building, a kindergarten, two shops and a restaurant are an enrichment to the residential environment.
Example ERnteLAA
With the ERnteLAA project in Vienna-Liesing, our approach is to combine sustainability and affordability, thereby creating a situation that benefits the environment and a variety of target groups in equal measure. With the supply of 160 apartments under the Vienna Housing Initiative and an in-house family-friendly infrastructure featuring a kindergarten, supermarket and pharmacy, environmentally friendly housing is accessible to many people in Vienna.
The professional management of the development by Caritas also ensures the best prerequisites for creating a neighbourhood community. A special shared meeting area and place for socialising is the rooftop garden featuring numerous flower beds and greenhouses.
